We often talk about special recipes and creative ways to serve dogs’ meals. Your feline companions can also play while eating, whether they eat kibbles or pâté. Discover our tips to make mealtime more fun… with a frozen touch!
Cat sorbet
We may be tempted to give our cats human ice cream to refresh them. However, cats are lactose intolerant, even though they love milk. If you want to give your feline friend ice cream, you need to use milk specially formulated for cats.
Otherwise, we have a very easy recipe that requires just two ingredients. First, choose his favorite Oven-Baked Tradition can, then add a little water and stir to obtain a lighter texture. Place the sorbet in ice cube molds or on a licking mat and freeze before offering it to your furry friend as a treat. You can even place a cube of sorbet on his kibble bowl. Your homemade sorbet should therefore be given occasionally in small amounts.
Interactive toys
Interactive toys allow cats to spend their energy, which is ideal for weight control. They are also mentally stimulating and reduce food boredom. In fact, since 2024, Oven-Baked Tradition cat kibbles now have a new shape, which not only counters food boredom, but also promotes dental hygiene and increases palatability.
Among the many toy options on the market, a simple ball with a hole in it can be filled with red meat kibbles. As the cat rolls the ball, the kibbles fall on the floor and can be tasted one at a time.
There are also several models of maze, tube and puzzle bowls in which to hide kibbles. You can also prepare a mix of wet and dry food for a real cat feast!
Fillets
Oven-Baked Tradition cat fillets are available in four flavors. In addition to using them as a treat, you can separate them into small pieces and place a few on your cat’s bowl. Cats also love it when the pieces are placed in an interactive toy to keep the fun going. Once opened, put the fillets in the fridge for a refreshing feline snack. Even better, pop them in the freezer for a delicious popsicle!
